I have driven to Medford many times and my HHR has no problem and handles excellently through the canyon on 199.
We spend a lot of time over there fishing for Salmon and Steelhead. In the winter we have our 29' Arctic Fox trailer at the Ship a Shore.

When you are in Brookings stop by my restaurant, Smuggler's Cove down in the port across from the Beachfront Best Western.

I have an 07 LT1. I have driven down to Medford several times since getting it. I have no problem with any of the hills. It lags a little on Sexton, but I have also gotten about 32 mpg between Roseburg and Medford. I will be putting an Air Raid intake and a new exhaust which should help. I would get the 2.4. Good to see another Oregonian on.
