Couple minor mods...new pics
Couple minor mods...new pics
Ok, so first thing noticeable is the painted headlights. Along with the body color headlight housings are... BC Mirror caps, BC Rear Beauty Bar, and BC lower bumper plastic and removed the front plate holder. What you don't see are BC Fuse panel cover and BC ECM cover under the hood. Here are some pics and after the pics are some explanations to help with questions I know will be asked... So without further ado...
Rear w/ BC beauty bar, BC taillights and dual exhaust.

Front end w/ BC headlamp housing and BC mirror caps with OLD grill...

Nice semi 3/4 shot showing headlamps, mirrors and door handles to show contrast from satin to BC... (handles being done soon!)

Different angle 3/4

Close-up of headlamp

Possible new sig pic...

Now for some explanations...
* Rear beauty bar is straightforward. Couple bolts outside and couple bolts inside behind plastics.
* Mirror caps were removed VERY carefully and essentially just pry off
* Lower bumper piece has to have the front bumper removed to get it off
* Headlamps. This I don't suggest ANYONE do without having a spare set around. We BROKE the first one and had to buy a replacement from eBay. The headlamps are NOT held together with typical silicone sealant. I say this beacause our local car club has done SEVERAL pairs of STOCK cobalt headlamps and have gotten REALLY good at doing the painted headlamp housings. Almost all edges of the headlamp housing on the HHR's headlights are cracked or broken. Sealed back up with a combination superglue, silicone, and something else we had (cant remember the name).
So, the stock headlights are held together with a VERY strong black substance. We tried the oven approach, hot water approach, and even a heat gun. Am I happy with this mod? VERY!!!! Would I do it again?? Not unless the price was right!
***I thank my local club Kemikal M Balance especially Richie and Kat without whom NONE of this would have been done. Richie, thanks for being patient and Kat you are a GODDESS with a spray can!

as always we are happy to be able to help you. we love how different and unique your hhhhrrrr has become. we are by no means experts at customizing but you are always the first one to experiment with us. and we thank you for that. now on a more important note....YOUR LIGHTS LOOK BAD ARSE!!!!!!
by the way.. let me introduce SSFamilyWagon. That is Richie from here in Tucson. Without him and his girlfriend things on the HHR would never have been the same. Along with everyone else in the club as well. At least those who actually show up on time. LOL!
Richie welcome and stop doing so much work on his HHR.
Jason your ride is looking good
