06' 2.4 won't stay running
Just a update. It runs. Oddly enough. I had cut the chip outt of the key at one point. (You tube). Anyway i had hooked the battery charger up to it to let someone hear the stereo system.. i noticed that the chip was in the floorboard. I picked it up and stuck it back on the ignition. I noticed the security light wasn't flashing with the key on. I thought I'd try to start it and it run. I took the chip off and went to put it back and learned you have to move it very little at a time and give it a few seconds to give it time to communicate with computer. Before I just moved it around thinking if it hit the rigs spot it would be instant. I was wrong. Thanks for everyone's help.
OK, but why? Cars don't get stolen in KY? Youtube wants to steal your car.
New keys are not expensive ($7.95) and you can program them yourself, if you read your Owner Manual (link in my sig). Or, check your recall status (link in my sig) you might get 2 new keys for free.
I can think of no reason to remove the chip. I seriously would like to know the why, maybe there is something I missed.
