06 HHR won't shift out of 1st PLEASE HELP
So my 06 HHR initially was having intermittent shifting to 4th gear. I had a mechanic replace all 4 solenoids except the switch on the manifold. After replacing and putting it all back together the car doesn't shift out of first and Is coding the other 3 solenoids that werent showing faulted initially. The original faulted solenoid is not coding anymore but the other 3 are now. Please help I'm at my wit's end with this car. Adaptive learning issue TCM both??
I mean the codes from scanner. Initially it was giving error code on shift solenoid 2-3. I had shift solenoid 1-2, 2-3, pressure control solenoid, and TCC solenoid all 4 replaced. Now the 1-2, pressure control and TCC are giving the error codes
He can I'm sure but he's not a transmission specialist. Connectors gooped up on all 3? Seems unlikely although anything is possible. He's willing to drop to do the labor again if it's something he goofed on. I'm just asking around trying to get other possible causes. Another thread on here mentioned something about having adaptive learning erased. The codes that are coming up do say pending. Which is unusual
Don thanks for your replies. I'm sorry but I'm not the biggest gear head or mechanic. I'm an IT field engineer. Now that topic I can go super geek on. Not sure about pending I haven't noticed that before. Can you please elaborate on the 20 position connector? I just have a feeling it could be as simple as something that wasn't put back together correctly.
Even IT guys have to deal with the guy that never noticed the network wasn't plugged in. How do you think electronic (data) gets into the transmission? IT guys especially know about error codes; there are lots of them for a reason. This is IT stuff. Unless field engineer just means you have the bigger hammer (that's what the used say about Xerox field engineers).
If you won't let us in on the specific codes we are wasting time. Pending just means the computer is waiting for confirmation.
Could be as simple as the #43 fuse in the under hood fuse box is blown. Could be either end of the transmission harness or the wires in it; again a computer.

Ok don, thanks for the sarcasm yet again. Error codes P0700 P2764, P0976, P0961 currently showing. As the bigger hammer my initial thoughts were the computer (TCM) or harness. I took to an electrical shop to have diagnosed. They determined it was coming from inside the transmission. (Means the solenoid) had someone change all and now the above referenced codes. But you're right possibly dirty mechanic hands touched contacts or not plugged in. So if the "network" is not plugged in why wouldn't P0973 be giving error code? That was the initial and only code. Just like bad IT guys make the the good ones carry the bigger hammer I could also be dealing with another typical bull**** artist mechanic that did not diagnose my said "inside the transmission problem" look man it's my son's college car and I'm just a dad trying to do my best and save some money. Not all "reputable" shops are that reputable. Hence my inquiry on this forum seeking answers from the all great and powerful OZ. I also know as an IT person to never make someone that is not of my expertise feel incompetent or as if they should my line of work or they wouldn't be asking me. Do you just like trolling people on here as a source of entertainment? I've read some of your other comments on here to other people.
