08 Auto SS slipping in OD @60mph

My SS started slipping this week on my commute. Shift is real lazy going into OD also. Got a check-it-out appointment on Friday. Thought it might be cruise related but it does it with me on the throttle too. (Slight throttle and it spools up to above 4k). Only got 9600 miles. Anyone else had a slipping issue? I did look for a trans dipstick before reading

No engine light so far.....

Sometimes happens to me when shifting from "I" into "D" during acceleration, it didnt happen for the first few months, just started a few weeks ago. It used to upshift nice and smooth immediately when I moved the lever, now it hesitates and the revs climb about 500rpm until the overdrive gear catches. I hope its not the tranny needing adjustment already.

Follow up: clutches in Trans were smoked :( Don't think I drove this rig very hard that the trans would go bad in such few miles. Replaced in less than a week with a reman unit. Seems to be fine so far but really haven't logged many miles due to weather and having other fun rigs to drive

Dang, that stinks. Transmission failures on such a new vehicle are a real PITA.

This should be very troubling to anyone with an HHR SS auto..........and was discussed early on when the car first came out..........and if it won't hold up stock what will it do with 40 more horsepower and 55 more ft lbs of torque...........

While I am sure the engineers have thought this through, it does seem like a possible weak point that "controlled slip" is intentional, seems like that might lead to premature wear under some specific driving conditions. I like the "pushbutton shift feature", that would be nice to exploit. http://media.gm.com/us/powertrain/en..._MN5_ME7_n.doc

Just another theres always going to be one bad one out of a thousand....no auto maker ever had the privilage to make all their cars 100% perfect 100% of the time.
Unless there is a rash of many owners having this problem, I wouldn't worry.
