Is there some reason you can't use GoOgle or call a auto parts store? I guess I could look it up for you, but you have internet access. GoOgle "hhr 2-3 shift solenoid", other search engine would have similar results.
P0757 is actually 2-3 Shift Solenoid valve perfornmance-no third or fourth gear. There is a possibility there are broken or loose wires involved (between the trans and the TCM).
Replace the 2-3 shift solenoid and the 1-2 solenoid. Royal Purple is even more expensive than the recommended Dexron V!, whatever you use it should be a Dexron certified synthetic.

Does the factory pan use a good metal with rubber reusable gasket or do I need to find a filter with that included?
I've been scouring through the site trying to find all the info I can...
FWIW, I also have the Service Traction and Service ESC warnings lit up too.
Any chance that these could be related? Should I hold off on tearing into the transmission? The Service Traction and Service ESC lights cam on about a week before the P0757 code and transmission not shifting started.
I ran diagnostic on the car at a friendly shop using their equipment and checked the wheel speed sensors, assuming that one had gone bad causing the Traction/ESC issue but all 4 showed virtually identical speeds while driving.
BUT, the first time the transmission started shifting erratically and throwing the P0757 code was right after I drove away from the shop. I returned to the shop and the owner commanded the B solenoid to cycle a couple times and took it for a test drive and it worked fine for a week, then this morning the code came back and the transmission wouldn't shift out of 2nd on way to Advance Auto, then wouldn't shift out of 1st on the way back home.
I only purchased the HHR about 10,000 miles ago and it seemed to be pretty well maintained and privately owned. It has around 125,000 miles on it now.
Any additional help would be greatly appreciated!!!

There are only TWO solenoids.
The thin rubber gasket that comes with most kits is junk. It the OE gasket is not broken it can be reused.
Do not over tighten the pan bolts!!!!!!!!! that will bend the pan and cause terminal leaking. 106 INCH/Lb, that is finger tight with a 1/4 inch drive.
The traction/ESC is lit because of the trans code. Performance codes turn them off.

I assume the rubber/nitrile??? Seal for the transmision should be able to be reused as well, as long as I dont gouge or cut it while removing the cover.

I have an in/lb 1/4 drive torque wrench to use to tighten the pan bolts.
That would be great if fixing the bad solenoid clears the Traction and ESC codes as well!!!! I sure hope it does.

If you go to a transmission shop they will want to do a "rebuild", that means replacing the entire valve body and valves and solenoids. Been there, after a few years I now realize it was just 1 solenoid causing the problem. If I knew then what I know now. Amazing what you learn after you turn 60.

I just assisted the_shmoo replace shift solenoids in his 2006 2LT , we did it on jack stands with a floor jack to lower the transmission, tedious but not impossible. The side pan gasket is reusable as was the filter seal .
while you’re changing the filter inspect the fluid transfer pipes for cracking at the welds by the flanges.
