I've had my 2006 HHR for about 4 years now, so far great car. I'm a fairly ok mechanic. Smog is due and I have the following issues:
P0128 - Coolant Thermostat - Two years ago had the same issue, changed out thermostat and temp control sensor, same error
P0340 - Camshaft Position Sensor - Bought one, looked through my Haynes Manual and all the web sites, and after 5 hours of looking for the sensor, came to the conclusion that the 2006 does not have one.
P1133 - HO2S
I just don't want to throw a bunch of money and time on this car, it has 189K miles
For that P0128, which thermostat did you install? We have documented that the AC Delco 131-158 180 degree thermostat is best and long lasting, the two year span indicates to me , another brand was installed. Also was the coolant drained and replaced with Dexcool 50/50 mix?
P1133, can just be a loose wiring connector at the upstream O2 sensor
as for the camshaft position sensor, which one? Intake or exhaust?
Part #7 in a 2.4 , which do you have? 2.2 or 2.4 ?
P0128 replace the t-stat with a GM 131-158 ONLY
P0340 do you have a 2.2L or a 2.4L? If it is a 2.2L you most likely need a new IgnitionControlModule.
P1133 most likely need a new #1 O2 sensor, that's the one closest to the enginre.
