2006 HHR climate control panel ...

on my HHR, recently the nighttime, back lighting on the climate control panel has begun to flicker.....only this panel...all other back lighting is fine. already pulled the panel and checked the plugins for anything loose....nothing. the panels heat/ac functions are working fine, ....just the back lighting. any ideas..??......downstream wiring, i would suspect......anyone else have this kind of problem with the modular panel, its
elf..??

I had this happen to mine while it was still under factory warranty, they replaced the whole panel and that fixed it.

All of the instrument backlights are on the same circuit. However, the AC control panel is on a separate wire from the BCM. Any recent wire tapping going on? If not probably an internal connection.

not positive but seems to have been happening ever since chevy replaced my power steering elec motor(under warrenty). maybe they "bumped" a few wires under the dash.......i'll pull the panels under the dash and check all the wiring.......

Fixed.....

pulled the control panel today...........checked the gray/black(lamp power/ground) leads on the central modular plug on the back of the unit. pulled the connector and cleaned the contacts with contact spray...
