2006 HHR Outside Mirror Switch Up Doesn't Work
Hi Guys,
New to this forum. Have a question about my 2006 LS. The outside mirror switch doesn't work to move the mirror up, down works fine. This morning the move right switch stopped working but left still works. This is only a problem when the wife or kids drive the car because they move the mirrors and all I can see is the ground, then I have to roll the window down and push on the mirror glass so I can see something useful.
Has anyone else had this problem, did a new mirror switch fix the problem, can the switch be replace just by pulling the door pull cup out, is there a cheaper place than GM Part Direct to get the switch ($45 seams a little excessive for a stupid mirror switch)?
Any input you guys have would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem. Eventually, it stopped working altogether. I was checking fuses and found that the fuse was burnt. I replaced it. When I went to try the switches, it didn't work, but I got the "blue smoke of doom!" and the fuse went again. Changing the switch should resolve the issue.

I just had this issue with my 06 LT2. The dealer fixed it under warranty. The explanation I got from the dealer was that it had something to do with the power rearview mirror - not sure why that would affect it, but it's now fixed!
