2006 HHR with Traction Control light on

Hello all,

I'm new here. I want to say hello and possibly find out how to fix the problem on my 2006 HHR with 164,000 miles. For the last week or two the T/C light comes on which causes the automatic tanny to shift hard. Ocassionally the check engine light comes on as well. When it sits for a while and I start it back up both lights stay off, but one or both come back on. I pulled code P0011, which is for the camshaft position timing sensor (the front on). I replaced that sensor last weekend, but the lights are stilll coming on. I hear this is a common problem on HHR's. I would appreciate any help on this as I really don't want to take it in for repair.

You replaced the sensor? Well, that was the wrong thing to replace - you need to replace the CAMSHAFT ACTUATOR POSITION SOLENOID for the INTAKE side.

That code of P0011 does not point to the sensor. Head over and read this: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-tutorial-library-21/camshaft-position-actuator-solenoid-valve-replacement-w-pics-p0010-11-p0013-14-a-28779/ It's an easy job to repair it.

(FYI: thread moved to a more appropriate section)

Welcome :)

Welcome to the site I agree you need to replace the actuator not the sensor.

The intake actuator is marked here in blue.
