), seems legit, i think it will fix. but my problem is i am at work and not to where my haynes book is. do you guys think it will work, and if so can someone send me a pdf of the disassembly of the shifter? i would be forever greatful!
Don't do it! It is dangerous and not your problem. You said the button is stuck depressed; that means that the plunger is broken. A kit like this will fix it (this was just the first one, there are many others..

Then the root problem is the solenoid is sticking, a shot of WD40 fixed mine. Then you managed to break the plunger.
Either way you should check with a GM service dept. There is a extended warranty on some of the shifters, depends on the exact problem. If all else fails a new (2009-2011) shifter would cost less than $100. https://www.gmpartsgiant.com/parts-l...t-control.html
I saw the bare shifter on ebay for $15 new, shipped. you want one with the leather boot, that is an upgraded part.

So its fixed, here is what I did. that actuator that is the first thing that this guy zip ties I moved it around with a screw driver (didn't have to remove the shifter assembly). that released the button. I shot it with some wd40 (thanks don!) and it now works like a dream!
