Hard for me to believe no CEL. You did all of that work with absolutely no OBD2 Codes?
Hint: the electrical diagrams have wire colors on them.
I think you are describing the #1 O2 sensor connector, if it melted you probably blew, at least, the "emissions" fuse.
In post #1 you say you checked "the fuse"; what does that mean?
The CEL did not come one. I tried to see if there where any codes and it did not pull any.
I checked the #13 fuse for the fuel pump even though I could hear it turning on. I checked the timing based on my dad saying it soinds like it jumped time as well as how many posts I have seen about the ecotec jumping time.
The wires going to the o2 sensor on the exaust manifold are good. I am wondering if there is a second o2 sensor behind the CAT and that is where the 4 wires go. If this is the case it is my understanding that the computer not being able to read the second o2 sensor would keep the car from catching?
is there some other sensor that could be preventing it from starting? Crank or cam sensor? Like I said there was no CEL it just died on my way home at 55 mph..no noise no sputtering it just shut off

There are a number of things that would cause it just quite. Without connecting the car to a diagnostic machine you're just throwing parts at it. While the internet is good for some things, there comes a point where you may have to take it some one that has the correct tools to diagnose the problem.
no sensor would cause that.
If a sensor was involved there would have been a CEL. Most sensors are coils of wire sealed in epoxy, not prone to failure.
