2009 HHR clicking and not starting

My HHR is not starting this morning. It worked yesterday and had no issues, but this morning when I tried leaving it wouldn't turn on. The lights turn on and the radio works but when I turn the key, the headlights dim or turn off and the car just clicks. I'm not sure what to check, any suggestions would be great! Thanks!!

Have the battery checked

Welcome to the site, X2 dead battery.

And in case you didn't know, the battery is in the rear, under the floor/ lid behind the spare tire.

The plus to that as I see it, is it's away from engine heat, & that can prolong battery life.

I'm still running on my original battery from Nov. 2007. (your results may vary greatly).

And if you remove the battery, remember DO NOT close the hatch door, put a folded towel over the hatch latch , it is not easy to open from the inside!

It's sure hard to Treat The Patient if they don't show up for the appointment.....

I call that symptom "Willie Nillie"

Lots of them on Craigslist too.

I really cannot believe the number of people that cannot self-diagnose a dead battery. And we have had a large number of dead battery situations lately.

Dead battery... should be a recall for that. :p
