Aftermarket Warranty Question

Hello All,
I have an 09 HHR 2.2l LT with (just turning) 90,000 miles. I live in Ga. but work in NYC, so Im wracking up about 27-28,000 miles/yr. I bought the car used in 3/10 with 16,000 miles on it.It has taken very good care of me thus far. Ive had a few issues (cv joint, wheel bearing, etc...) that have all been covered by either my 5 yr/ 100,000 mile warranty or an extended warranty I bought with the car. So here;s my dilemma...I'm almost out of all my warranties and with as much driving as I do I really don't want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere and be at the mercy of God knows who without some warranty protection. Does anybody recommend or know of a reputable aftermarket warranty company? I just started looking into this so Im not even sure that they'll cover my car cause it has so many miles, but I thought I'd throw it out there and ask around. I'd really like to keep that "peace of mind" you get knowing if something Does go wrong, you won't be shelling out huge $$$. Thanks in advance for all your help & knowledge.:boetie

The cost for an after market warrenty on a mileage car was rather pricey when I looked at them. I get spam mail offering them up to 200,000 miles on the car. I seem to remember that it was $2500 for an addirional 50 K miles. Then trying to get some shop to use the warrenty service may also be an issue.

I agree with what Old Lar said... And will add to it: Don't bother. Take the $2500 you would spend and put it in savings for just in case the car were to fail.

Old Lar speaks the truth.

But if you are interested, a GM dealer who is active on the Corvette forum sells the GMPP and an aftermarket warranty at discounts. I will research it and give you the name if interested.

i wasnt going to buy the aftermarket warranty..but then i caved in and did..and boy was i happy i did..covered sooo much got my moneys worth in like 3 months in repairs! So it is a 50/50 chance, but for peace of mind, i would get it..and i learned after the fact to stick with GMPP and not any other warranty since dealerships can warranty things much easier and faster through gmpp

You can go to www.extendedwarranty.com or call 877-466-9166 and talk to people that will sell you the GMPP at a discounted price.
Just not sure whats available at that mileage but give it a try anyway and see. They will send you the offerings and a quote via E Mail.
