Air Conditioner Stink - Fix Found - Simple
Air Conditioner Stink - Fix Found - Simple
Hi Folks, If you get a bad smell when you cycle your air conditioner on and off, simply go replace your cabin air filter behind the glove box. Mine was making bad smells, and that went away entirely when I changed the filter. BTW, NAPA has the filters (looks as good as factory) for $10.00. I hear that is cheaper than the GM filter. Best wishes and God Bless, Marc
also, a dirty filter can greatly decrease the amount of air blowing from your air conditioner, making you uncomfortable on them hot summer days.
Don't forget to replace it every year!!!
its easy. Go to napa, it is 15 dollars. open your glove box, empty it, and push in the clips on the sides of the glove box. this will make it fall open all the way. then up inside the dash, release the three black clips and pull the little door down. grab the filter, yank it out, and put your new one in! I found out that there is a direction of air flow on these filters so be sure to pay attention to the air flow arrow and put your new filter in the same way.
