Airbag light and seat swap

Airbag light and seat swap
So it seems that I have this service airbag light popping on more than off in my new panel. Initial dealer diagnostic came back with the usual "replace everything" which I'm not falling for. The module was just replaced but its still on. Checked the plug connection in passenger footwell, same result. The problem is strictly with passenger seat only.
Question...I have a pair of leather seats which I was going to install next spring, but now I'm thinking if I put them in now, would this potentially fix the problem as long as the seat presence sensor and seatbelt latch sensor are funtioning properly in the leather seats.
And also, would that be plug and play without any reflashing of modules etc.
Obviously trying to avoid dumping $700 into a brand new seat sensor.

Are the new seats compatible with the car? Somebody reported that the sensor changed.
Why do you say the passenger seat only? Is it the "passenger presence" light or the SRS light?
Which module was replaced, why, by whom? Was it programmed correctly?
What error codes? If the airbag light is on there are codes that can be read by a good tech with good equipment.
Does $700 include labor? I'm seeing around $400 for the sensor.

Not sure what codes are showing now, but my mechanic is gone till tue. Which is why I was gonna throw a seat in to see if that will fix the problem.

My question I guess is if the sensors in the new seat are good, could that potentially fix the problem, I don't think theres much to replace after that.

What airbag light is on?
Why do you suspect the passenger presence sensor?
The dealers Tech2 should have told the what the problem was, not just where the problem was.
Depending on WHAT is wrong, a new seat might fix it. The sensors have been known to malfunction, especially if people sit in the seat with hard/sharp objects in their back pockets, combs, screwdrivers, snuff boxes etc.
For instance here are some of the possible codes, there are more.

I came across this link while GoOgling your question:
You don't need a Tech-II to reset SDM (airbag) trouble codes - LS1GTO.com Forums

I just put in a seats from a 2009 SS into my 2006 LT. Since then the "service airbag" message is on the DIC and the airbag light is on.
I still have the 2006 seats, do I just swap sensors? is this easy to do ? are there sensors in both the passenger & drivers seat ?
