My 2007 HHR

Will not turn over or start and has no power even for lights and key. It is making a constant clicking in the fuse box under hood and under radio. It feels like fuse or relay#68 is clicking. What can I do?

Hi Deb, to the forums!

Might be yet another case of fuse block bolts not tight enough. They need to be really tight. Inside the underhood fuse block.

Also check the battery cable terminals, for tightness and cleanliness. At the battery, on the side of the underhood fuse block, at the starter, and on the alternator. The terminal clamps at the battery have also been known to crack. Remove the NEGATIVE battery terminal clamp, then remove, clean, and reattach all the others, finishing with the aforementioned negative battery terminal clamp. While the battery is disconnected, you could take it to the auto parts store for a free load test.

My bet is that you have no idea where the battery is or that they wear out with time.
The battery is in the rear under the tray that covers the spare tire. The battery that came in the car is a 8 year battery, most replacement batteries are good for either 3 or 5 years.
