Ok, new to the HHR, just bought a 2007 2.4 LT, how did GM designers over look a very basic detail...an interior light main control switch? We have a local Drive-In Theatre that we have been going to for decades and NEVER had a vehicle that we couldn't turn OFF completely the inside lights.

Has anyone bypassed the lights with an on off switch or dimmer? I would really be interested in do this to the car, obviously I am not concerned about warranty. I also think that my gate was not completely closed last night and drained the battery as it was dead this morning. On all our other vehicles (we have several) we often times turn the interior lights completely off so as not to run down the battery and for privacy reasons at night while entering or exiting the vehicles.

 

Your lights don't automatically dim after a certain amount of time? Or you mean for entering and exiting the vehicle?

To control ALL of the interior lights, I put a rocker switch in/on the removeable panel just under your knees. I BELIEVE that I tapped (interrupted) off the # 26 fuse in the fuse block on the right inside of the car beside the passenger's left knee.
Like I said, I THINK that it is fuse #26, I've got CRS nowadays.
