Axle issue after accident.
Hello everyone.
I have some bad news, I got in a bit of an accident. Luckily it was only my and no one was hurt and there where no other cars hit. The bad news is that my back right rim hit the curb really hard because of a skid and now the axle has a good kink in it and the wheel is at like a 10 degree angle from vertical. Is this something that can be fixed or do I need a whole new axle? Here is a pic of the damage from underneath.

Axle from a junkyard wouldn't cost that much. You should also replace at least the one hub.
If you have comprehensive insurance it would only cost you the deductible.
While you are at it you could get an axle beam from a Cobalt or HHR SS with disk brakes an make a conversion.

A rear axle assembly is pretty cheap at most pick a part yards about $325.00 to 400.00

I have been an emotional wreck ever since the accident wondering how much this is going to cost and so on. And the worst part is I am between jobs now and have been applying all over and this happens. Just my luck right. LOL.
I am going to do some calling around and see what people will give me for a quote.
The one thing I have noticed about being in Canada is that car parts have like 10000% price increase from the states LOL. (maybe a bit of an exaggeration)
is this something that can be fixed at all? And how hard is it to replace the axle?
