When you hook to the battery you are getting results from the battery, not the 13 feet of wire. I guess it could mean something like resistance is fewtile or something.

I also found that it makes a difference which bolt on the strut. There is a ground location on the fender nearby. For some reason the ground conductivity is odd on these cars.
