Black soot on tailpipe

My SS seems to be running rich, the tailpipe is always black. Is this normal for a turbo? Should I have it checked while it is in for the RECALL? Let me know what you think.:p:

You say your SS "seems to be running rich". What are you basing that on?? If it's just the "black soot" you speak of....maybe not. However, if you see BLACK SMOKE emitted from the tailpipe, especially when accelerating, maybe you should be concerned.

Unleaded fuels always leave a black soot on the exhaust tailpipe. So maybe/maybe not...depends on other conditions.

Removing and reading a spark plug is ONE of the best ways to determine this....short of having software and/or diagnostic equipment. I don't suggest this unless you are familar with the procedure.
