Blower motor missing parts
 

Well guys I need some help if you can.

2009 LS panel.
About 6-7 ago I was in Miami and the blower motor just died, no advanced notice. I called a friend that lived up there and he pointed me to a little Cuban repair shop and I was back on the road three hours later. Blower motor is making noise now and is dying. I have now found out that what they did was put in a universal fan with the big flat plate. They didn't tell me that they replace the oem motor in the plastic housing. I have no idea what happen to the plastic housing that holds the blower motor.

I have no bone years down here; have one 100 miles in Homestead but no luck finding the plastic housing for the blower motor. I would like to get it back to a oem style blower motor.

Do you guys know of someone I can contact to get a used housing for the blower motor, I don't need the blower motor, I will get a new oem one from Rockauto

Anybody have any ideas?

I changed my blower fan a few months ago, I had to cut the OEM blower out and install the aftermarket blower with 3 provided screws

These three holes are to line up on the housing where you screw in the fasteners provided.

That is what the miami shop did. I want to put it back to oem. I am trying to find the plastic housing for the blower motor.

There is no separate "housing", you have to cut the motor out of the heater box. The older replacement units came with an adapter, some are metal some are plastic. The screw holes should be the same.
The only way to get it back to OEM is to replace the entire AC housing, which is very labor intensive.

Yes, replacing the OEM housing is a matter of replacing the entire HVAC housing under the dashboard, it can be done but it’s hours of work to remove from the doner HHR and no guarantee that the blower motor works! In which case you’re back to place A cut out the old blower motor and install and aftermarket replacement

I am trying to find the plastic house and the cap for the oem style blower motor (see my video) that shows that housing and cap.
I have the plate/flange style replacement style now. that OB showed in his post.
The reason that I used the cobalt video is:

All have the same blower motor system and my video shows the housing and cap that I would like to find and get back too. If I can find a used housing and cap (seen in my video) I will be able to replace the flange style motor back to the orm style blower motor. I am not talking about changing out the air box! Just returning to the orm style blower motor from the flange style blower motor.

Did I explain this correctly? so you understand what I am trying to do.

Why don't you just post some pics, maybe someone will understand what you're missing.

I’ve changed the blower motor in several Cobalts and HHRs never seen one where you don’t cut out the OEM blower motor

My question is: why? The replacement part you have does not use it, it would not fit. The one I posted in #5 would use it
If it works it works.
