Brake Dust ??

Kinda quite here so I thought I would toss out a new topic.

Anyone else notice that the HHR has no or very little brake dust. Neither the factory or the chrome wheels I've had on the HHR accumulate brake dust. Most of the other cars and trucks I've owned had a major problems with brake dust on the front wheels. Does the HHR use a different type of pad or does it have more to do with the design of the wheel?

I've also noted the lack of brake dust. Never really cared why, just something less I have to worry about when washing!!

Same here. I noticed a lot less brake dust compared to other cars I have owned especially my Mustang but never really thought why.

Noticed that also. Sure makes keeping the wheels clean very easy.

Me too, must be the quality of the brake pads. I'll be getting OEM when they need to be replaced.

I've never had a vehicle that didn't just have hub caps, so I guess I didn't realize it was less. I just noticed that there was some. I don't know if I'm happier to realize that I don't have to worry about it as much now, or depressed that when I eventually get a different car, that I'll have to worry about it more. (There's another year of therapy.... )

Whatever the're using up front, there not using in the back. I've removed the rear drums and they had plenty of brake dust. My garage floor is painted and the brake dust left a nice little stain on it.

I had noticed that with winter gone and the roads clean, there is almost no brake dust. That's great compared to my S-10.

None on ours either. Our saturn 300 wagon had a heap of dust every day. So much so that I thought we had a problem. Nice engine in that car though.
