A/C In Neutral
 

Ok, so I was driving down my street today, and I popped it into neutral to coast up to the curb where I park. Well, when I put it in neutral, I noticed the a/c didn't seem to be working...it was just blowing out normal temp. air. But when I put it into park, it kicked back on and was blowing cold air again. The little light was lit up saying the A/C was on the whole time....

Has anyone heard of this before? I'll have to play with it a little more, since I was kind of in a hurry when I got home....

In those few seconds you will not be able to notice any change in air temp. The air box and evaporator are all cold and any change in air temp will be to slight to notice. Quit looking for problems and just enjoy your car.

Um, excuse me? No...there was a definite difference. I can smell the difference between A/C and regular outside air. Besides, it's humid out today, so the outside air coming in was muggy. Don't tell me what I can and can't notice.

Keep it in drive when you're driving???

Ok guys, I'm not really concerned about this, as it isn't an "issue". I'm simply curious to know if the A/C is affected in any way by the gear you're in. I'm obviously not in neutral very often so it isn't a huge deal. I'm just wondering.

I notice at red lights the ac either drops a notch or kicks off..not sure which but pretty sure its rpm related..its such a smalll system it needs lots of air and pump to get the good air.. as soon as I go again the ac resumes ..

Well, that would make sense, since in neutral it doesn't have very high rpms....
