So it still has been putting out puffs of smoke, not as often as before. It also still has been consuming some oil, again, not as much as before. So it seems to have helped some.

I then tried donrew's suggestion that he had made in some other threads, about oil control rings. I put some seafoam in each cylinder, via the spark plug holes. I let it sit overnight, actually closer to 20 hours. Bunch of smoke upon startup, as expected. Drove it for a few days, then changed the oil, and went on a road trip.

456 miles, seemingly no oil loss!! It puffed smoke a couple of times on the trip, so it's not 100% fixed yet. I'll do the seafoam again soon.

It seems that there has been very nearly no more oil loss after driving quite a bit more.
