Problems/Service/RepairsIf you have a problem with your HHR, want a tip on repairing or performing a particular service to you HHR here is the place to post!
Thanks Blue. Any chance you can thinks of why I would be getting a circuit open on one of my fuel injectors and why I cant seem to get any RPM data from the ckp even after replacing it?
I wish I could just sell it for a different HHR but I am so broke that if someone sued me it would actually make me money lol...Honestly I have the time to go through it piece by piece I just need the info.
Another possibility beyond "different motor in car" is wiring damage, either from the accident or the engine swap itself. Things get pinched, wire cut, with not too much damage to the harness sleeve. If everything seems to be hooked up correctly start looking closely at the harness for any possible damage... Plug ends too, check all those pins.
right now wiring diagrams and part numbers for the harnesses are going to be the biggest help right now I think. If it helps I will remind you that the engine is a 2.4L ecotec VVT someone pulled from a Pontiac G6 2010.
Furthermore Yes it is running it just shifts like crap and runs like crap. I can tell that its not running the right compression settings just driving it. The PCM was not flashed to the 2.4 settings, i checked the validation numbers against GMs website for the software version. So I am going to say that No they did not grab the ECM from the G6. Im pretty sure that the lot the previous owner got this from was a shady "fly by night" kinda place.
Plus side update, I put in a computer from a 2.4lvvt ecotec engine and the tcm and now I am getting the right fuel ratios. I have more power than I did, downside is that my outdoor temp gauge is not populating. RPM is not showing still.
If you were thinking the speedo gets data from the crankshaft sensor, forget that.
The Instrument panel gets data from the BCM (the VIN needs to match).the BCM gets it's data from the ECM with data from the VSS on the transmission. If the IPC or the BCM has been replaced the speedo and odo will not display.
