Can of worms.
Found a few crappy wires and will be repairing those in the next few days. Found one of the starter wires was loose and corroded and fixed that. Starts a whole lot better now, who would have thought. LoL. Just keeping the thread updated.
P.S.
Anyone know where I can find the engine Vin number? I am wanting to verify all the info I have for it.

Ok, so as an end to this posting, had the ECM and the TCM flashed by a smaller company in Indiana called Sinister Performance and they did an excellent job with it, put the right engine software in and even caught a small difference in the transmission unit to make sure it was behaving correctly. I really suggest using them if you end up like me. Reasonable price too. Also found a broken wire on a fuel injector. Now my baby floats along like a bat out of hell and I love it!
A one day subscription to Techweb is about $50. That and somebody that has a Tech2 or equivalent and knows how to use it.
There are folks on ebay that sell used ECMs programmed to VIN; maybe you could contact one and see if they know how.
I don't know if getting a used one from a junked 2.4L HHR would work. It would have the wrong VIN which would make a touch illegal.

We have discussed in other threads, how the 2.2 got a different intake camshaft, from the 2.4. The timing is different, which would explain why it's running so poorly.
I wonder if one could just put a intake camshaft from a 2.2 in it and it would run good?
