This car is driving me crazy
Since I've had this car end of Oct. I have had this done to it.
1. Recall - no biggie
2. velcro up near the sunroof came apart so it made noise
3. cloth around sunroof was pulling away
4. steering shaft replace - 3 months ago
5. wobble in the car fixed rotors - within past 2 months
6. vibration in car fixed axles - within past 2 months
7. sandblasted rear end (I have to pay for this
NOW, I have:
#5 back
#4 I hear a clunk in the steering wheel when I go over a bump
and now when I touch the breaks I occocially hear the breaks squeeling or whatever you call it.
I have gotten to the point that I'm very pissed that I'm having these issues on a NEW vehicle and I keep having to go back to have the issues that I thought was taken care of taken care of again. Anyone else having to go back and back and back?

So sorry to hear that you are having such difficulties with your new car. I have an 08 too and other than accepting the ****ty mileage, mine has been good for the 3400 miles.
bright side of your dilemna is that the repairs are covered and are considered a "come back". Brake squeal can come from glazing and a few hard panic stops will help to break the glaze. I would insist on a loaner car and would want to know if the repairs were not done right, or failed parts. Sending good vibes from Calif your way. Say, what is the production date of yours? Its on the driver's door on the inside sill plate, Im curious.

Very sorry to hear of your difficulties. I, fortunately, can say that at 12,000 miles on my '07 I am trouble free. I have taken it back to the dealership twice -- once for the safety recall and once right after purchase to clean ink off the driver's seat, install rear bumper cover and replace locking lug nuts for which there was no key. I hope your dealership is working with you and is actively trying to work these issues out. If not, perhaps it's time to find a different dealership who will help so that you can get back to loving your HHR.
so the receipt says:
1. vib/wobble from under the hood upon accleration / cause: out of round - halfshaft, front drive both replaced - ordered 2 front axle shafts
2. breakes pulsate when applied /cause: warped front break rotor refinished - resurfaced 2 front rotors.
