Center console

I took mine out a long time ago and forgot how to do it. What is the easiest way to lift my center console up a little. My daughter dropped something down by the emergency brake. I just have to be able to reach underneath it to get it out. Thanks.

easiest way you can pull up on the cup holder, and that should pop the top of that out. From the sound of it you don't have to lift the entire Console. The piece mentioned comes out easy for cleaning! Just pull it up! No screws or anything holding it down.

Smile R & R Console Top

Lee3333, remove the chrome trim around the shifter first. Then the coin holder rubber insert. Then take a flat bladed screw driver and pop up the plastic part of the coin holder section. Now pry up the plastic piece around the window switches. This will reveal two screws, remove these screws and pop up the top of the console and you shoud be able to look back towards the E brake and pull out what your daughter dropped past the lever.

Good luck.

I don't think he has to go through all of the for the emergency brake cover. I think popping off the cupholder insert will be the proper way for him to go, and the easiet. I don't think his daughter dropped something in front of the shifter assembly. I could be wrong though.

from above linked article:

You'll have to un-clip the top of the rear part of the console. Then slide it up and around the parking brake handle, with the parking brake handle UP. Now you have access to the console hold-down nuts and bolts. they are 10mm. There are two nuts that attach the front of the rear part of the console to the shifter housing, and two nuts that attach the rear part of the console to two verticle studs. Remove these. Un-plug the rear 12v power socket, and remove the rear part of the console.

Thanks for the replies-but I got lucky and dont need to move the center console. I moved the drivers seat all the way forward and used a grabber (the long flexible rod with the button on one end and the claws on the other) and went 'fishing'. I couldnt see what I was doing, so I just blindly stuck it in and on my second try caught my daughters rubber worm that she lost. She was overjoyed and I was relieved.
