Check Engine Light

Every time I punch the accelerator on the car beyond a sedate drive, the T/C light comes on. Then it goes off after the car sits a bit, turned off.

Now my check engine light is on.

I have it in for repair, but just wondering what y'all thought. I'm around 26 thou on odometer and it's an 06.

JOE - I am having the struts looked at too!!! :clappy::clappy:

is the cel blink then stay on?

Doc brown 04-18-2011 03:39 PM

Without the CEL code, we'd only be guessing.

mitzkity 04-18-2011 05:45 PM

Oh, I didn't know about the code. Should have thought of that. No, the CEL goes on and stays on.

LOL, well all day now and they didn't call yet, so it's not a quick fix.

I had a similar issue as you. Some times when I pushed with force the gas, the CEL turn on. Some times this turned off itself, but it came back again. I had a P0303 code (lean mixture). I rid this replacing the #3 fuel injector.

Well, so they say it's intermittent (what isn't?) map sensor code. Svs tried to tell me the CEL would make the TC light come on, and in my case, the TC light likes to come on almost every trip I make, and the CEL only came on this weekend.

This happened about a year ago - they "fixed" it... didn't have the code for me.

I blame the computer. and I bet there's nothing really wrong. So, day 2 of them swarming over it...wild goose chase.

Zagohhr - I really am glad you were able to fix yours!! Sounds like mine is a different code though :(

Cheri, I got mine fixed last year too for that T/C light thingy. Been ok since and extended warranty covered it (just paid my deductible). It did come on once when I had to hard break, but not since.

Well, IF what they say is true, it will be fixed tomorrow, and covered by the warranty.

They just updated the computer programming :propeller:! They said it was giving all false signals...nothing was wrong.

And the thunk in the right front wheel area turned out to be a sway bar linkage, and that was covered too.

Can't argue with that. So why do I think I'm going to see those lights again in 6 mos? ;)

We'll see....
