While driving down Rte. 30 in Lancaster, PA, I depressed the clutch only to hear a twang and look down to see half the clutch spring on the floorboard. Long story short, the clutch still worked, got us home safely and I was able to order another that should be home in time before our return trip to Buffalo.

Anyone do this install? Looks simple enough from just looking at the remaining half that is still there. $29 + $10 for overnight to Fredrich Chevrolet.

I'll skip the WTF on a car with only 29K.

Hope you don't have to pull the entire clutch/brake pedal assembly out. That is a 4 hour job. I've not seen one of these springs break before and there is not even a procedure for replacing just the spring in the service manual.

Ok. That parts diagram is a little misleading. That spring clips on at the lower tab on the clutch pedal. It pivots in 3 blue plastic grommets.
Looked at mine and the spring just snaps in place. No parts to remove or loosen. Should be very easy to do.
I noticed also that mine was "well" coated with grease. You might want to lube the new spring and pivot points.
Hardest part will be getting your hands up under there.

Yup! Just got the part from Falkner Chevrolet in Lancaster PA. overnight shipping added $10 to their price of $29. Literally took 10 seconds to pop into place. I'll get some grease later today and coat it.
WHEW!!! talk about being a nervous wreck, with New Years right around the corner and a 6 hour drive back to Buffalo, I was not wishing to try and figure out how to get this thing fixed.
I'll post up pictures when I get home from our trip.
