codes p0016, p0171 and p0131

These codes seem to have several solutions to them, so far we've changed cam and crank sensors, changed oil, filter, spark plugs and air filter. Mechanic still having issues. initial symptoms were car would not start on first crank. After a few days check engine light came on and produced these codes. then car began to bog down on acceleration. After initial repairs Mechanic saying now possible timing chain issues. Just want to know what the avrg hours for this repair are and if this could be the actual problem. Please help!

Welcome to the site.
If you could, would you give some details such as: year, engine size and mileage. It helps when trying to offer up an opinion.

(based on your 1st post, I was thinking fuel pump problems but that is just a vague guess)

Thanks

Shadow Edition? I've had Throttle Body Assembly problems before. Granted much sooner than you, and matches most of your conditions. Are you taking it to a personal mechanic or a Chevy dealership?

i have it at a mechanic reccomended by a friend and having problems with them. ugh... i hate mechanics, seems ive never ever found a trustworthy one. anyway, thinking of doing it ourselves, but not sure which manual to download. Ive found cd and dvd versions on ebay for around 10 - 15 bucks. Which would you guys reccomend?

well we've got the car back with no pmt out to the mechanic. After 3 days he still had not even opened it up to look. So just out the 90$ for towing and 100$ for cam and crank sensor which wasnt the issue. Gonna try to get $ back for those though. So now going to try and repair ourselves.

A lot of things could cause low compression. PM me for a possibility of a free manual, I'm working on it if you know what torrents are.

Are you overheating? Could be a head gasket leak or bad valves.
