The marker to show the side with the starter relief to press in the bushing.

I doubt it matters , or there would be a sheet with directions .

i notice that one of mine are shot now...not sure if i should go with a complete new arm with new bushing and ball joint or just keep the stock arm and replace the bushing

The ones that come installed in the control arm are not as good. You want the more solid mounts that Oldblue pointed out, they are also the same as the cavalier bushings.
