Here’s a picture of the cruise control buttons on my HHR.
Don’t see anything that says CANCEL.

The OP doesn't seem to know there's no 'cancel' button and you rag on me for mentioning the same.
What do you have against me?

OFF is not the same as SUSPEND. That is the missed point. Don't know why the focus on cancel button.
Once the cruise control is set the setting stays in memory until the ON/OFF button is pressed or the key is turned off.

That's right. My Buick has the extra button. "Cancel" per the manual. I like it. It does the exact same thing to the cruise control as tapping the brake, i.e., speed saved so "resume" works.

No idea why the illustration is so fuzzy on line.

And some of these posts are thread pirating. Sorry but we don’t care about a Buicks cruise control. I’m pretty sure different folks call the buttons different names, like that cancel button, it doesn’t matter to me, I’m here to help the member get his or her car fixed. DOT new term in millennial speak , meaning “ period “ or end of discussion, Comprende , or Capeesh.
