Cylinders in 2008 HHR

Hello:

I am getting a cylinder #2 misfire code. After reading some of the posts, I think it will be necessary to change out at least the #2 cylinder injector.

I think it it the 2nd from the passenger side, but I'd like to be sure. Can anyone advise me as to which cylinder on the block the #2 actually is?

Not to ask a stupid question, but did you check out your spark plugs? New plugs, plus good gas, seemed to cure the misfire I had when I first got my car.

Already did the spark plugs and wires. The engine is the 2.2

The check engine light is no longer on, but the obdc is still throwing codes. It can't pass inspection until it stop throwing the codes.

I finally got tired of going to AZ to see if it reset itself, so I broke down and got a code reader.

Thanks.

When I bought my code reader, the manual said to drive with it plugged in as sometimes you can get a mystery code that you can only read while driveing,

??? foolmoon, are you talking about firing order?
The cylinder #s go in order 1,2,3,4.

Firing order, cylinder numbers--- 2 different things.

About those wires... you know if ended up somehow mis-routed them, you'd get misfires, too, right? I would double-check them, both for routing and secure connection.

Then, maybe look at the fuel side of things. Injectors aren't cheap. Make sure that everything else is right first.
