Dashboard noise
Hi all,
I have this strange noise coming from the drivers side dash area. It sounds like air leaking and increases with the rpms. I had the intermediate shaft replaced and thought it was from the rubber boot coming loose, but its not. Cold,Hot temps ok, indoor, outdoor exchange working properly. Brakes ok, no fluid anywhere, level full. I would like to believe its not radio related ,but not sure.
What do you guys think ? Im going crazy trying to find the source !

flex pipe.
If it has nothing to do with moving or moving the steering wheel why put any energy into the intermediate shaft?
Why can't you tell if it is a speaker? You obviously are not deaf, just put your ear near the tweeter on the widshield support and the speaker in the door.

So I just went out and looked at the intermediate shaft and found out the boot is ripped. Its a pain to even put your body in that position and look up in the area lol.
I believe when i had it replaced the mechanic must have used lubricant to get the boot sealed as I had black residue on my finger probably from the rubber being melted from the lubricant.
Im glad i found the culprit but i dont think ill be able to replace just the boot. Any ideas how i can seal it ? Thanks
