dealer story
I took the LT to the dealer today.
AT 900 miles bad rotors ! They cut them / fixed.
I tell the SM about the tilting armrests. I show him the TSB.
This is where it get good. He tells me that it is all internet chatter & the parts #s are the same as the ones in the car & he is not going to order them.
He will keep an eye out if he finds that this is not just owners griping about a normal condition. BLA/BLA/BLA ! I told him I'm not happy about this.I thought I'll just take it to another dealer & piss on them. I go out to the car & the
armrests are fixed !!!!!!!!!/ ???????? I guess one off the mechanics fixed them.
I'm a retired mechanic so I got to looking at the armrest. I think you can pop off the plastic cap on the side to get at the nuts. Today was a GFF day

Nope, I bet they just readjusted your seat !!!
The armrests cannot be adjusted by tightening the screw. Trust me, I've had them off and created a fix myself. Simply by creating a new stop point on the stop point

What do you mead readjust the seat ? The seat was in the same position as when I got out .

You Da Man Today or should I say (Mechanic).
Are you absolutely sure??
As suggested here in previous threads, if you have the power seats, slight adjustments can be made that will correct the downward tilt of the armrest. However to me, that was not a solution. It provided an uncomfortable bottom angle. Then after adjusting the seat back, backward, to accomodate the previous adjustment, I found myself driving like a "low rider". That, again for me, was not posture correct. So, I simply removed the arm rest an used a little screw, properly located.
I mean, if the dealer did replace your arm rests and did no work order, how do you think they will get paid by GM. They obviously didn't do it for free.

When the dealer had mine in for the armrests they happily ordered them. After several trips, waiting for right parts...all was well. They said they ended up creating a stop point as the armrest just went down too far. Would venture to guess they did the same fix as many others...added a screw in the little groove to keep it from leaning down.
