Driver side windshield wiper when lifted hits hood edge and wore the paint off.
Ok so I noticed about 2 months ago, after having the car for a month, that when you liftup the windshiled wipers the driver side hits the hood edge. It was the first time I lifted it and noticed right a way that it rubbed/hit. Which then also made me notice that the paint in that little section where it rubs is missing. (probably the guys who clean them and dont report the problem) Can see the bare metal underneath. Anyone else have this happen. I have not been into the dealer yet, but shoudl be haveing a 3 month check up soon. This is on my small list to have the dealer fix.

same thing happened to me, noticed it right after I got it. Took it to the dealer and had them adjust the wipers and fix the spot.
If you look on the bottom of your windshield there are some marks that are supposed to be where the wiper is aligned, however mine are above that now to not hit it. Although they were way under before. Here's my previous thread about it. https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...ighlight=wiper |

Gotta touch it up every spring. They could have mounted it a little higher.

Had the same thing with mine. The dealer just loosened the arm and rotated it a bit. The wiper now sit horizontal when parked.

Had the same problem and moved it up also.

They are only off one tooth on the hub. Just ake the nut off pull it up and move up one and it will fix the issue. Most do not hit but are close even when it is in the right place.

I had the same problem. I'm not sure - it was a while ago - I don't think they are splined. I think it was just a tapered friction fit.

I know I did not rub the paint off as I noticed it the 1st time I lifted up. I am not going to adjust it and take it to the dealer and have them fix the paint too. Just want them to see that it was the wiper that rubbed it off. I have a small list (4 things) and will be taking it in the next few weeks. Thanks for all the posts and glad to know this is common
