My eng. light is on. I visited 2 diff. Auto Zones, Diag. Scanner shows blank screen every time, but eng. light will reset, only to come on next day. Noticed a small stumble in idle, and gas mi. reduced. Check fuses, and pushed them all in,all good, accept power outlet in front, replaced it. Any answers?

 

Check the gas cap. you may have a bad or lose cap. normally it would have a code along with the light(so not sure thats it) If it is the cap the light will stay on for a few starts after fixing it....

 

I doubt its a loose cap-that is a common\known code that any reader should pick up.

 

I had the same problum the the air filter inlet at the fender had come loose reinserted fixed the problum.

Eng lite still on. Pulling fuse on ecm resets light for a couple of days then light is on again. I do notice before it comes on a short stuble with engine..but no other drivability problems.

 

Just a thought, try cleaning the MAF sensor, I hear that can make for stumbling idle. Also check for vacuum leaks and wires that have come into contact with hot points on the engine, causing a short, I think there might be a TSB on that.

 

do you have onstar? iF SO call and have them run a diagnostic. it came in handy when my hhr was acting up.
