Engine bucking

Hello everyone. Just bought my son a 2011 LT with a 2.2 and 36000 miles. On the way home the check engine light came on and stayed on. The only noticeable problem is an intermittent bucking when idiling. Is this a common issue? Any suggestions would be helpfull.

Go get the codes read from the engine check light - that will indicate where the problem lay. Without the code being read, any suggestions would be a total guess and the list of suggestions would keep you busy for a week or more. Get the code first.

Autozone or other auto parts stores will apparently read the codes for free (but likely will not clear them due to liability reasons).

Yep, take it by Autozone, ORielly's or Advanced and have them scan it. I wouldn't suggest clearing the code until the problem is fixed.

LMFAOOOOOOOOO! Bonnie - Bucky never got fixed - See resetting T.A.P. in your trans control/engine control. Done by GM techs with their Tech II - getting them to do the procedure will be predicated on their mood and the trouble code generated.
