Engine cross reference

Hi, I have 06 HHR 2.2 with a D for the vin. It has approx. 204000 miles and it had spun a bearing. I am having a tough time finding a used engine in my area and would like to know if anybody knows what other vechicles the engine was used in? Thank you

The junkyard computers should be able to match up cars. Usually they will find what you need.

That engine was used in HHRs for only 2006, but I'm pretty sure that 2005 and earlier Cobalts/Cavaliers/Opel/Saab etc. used them (with some mods). IIRC, Cobalts had the newer engine in 2004 or 2005, on some of them a power steering pump was driven off the cam shaft and some had a different smog setup (AIR). Then they changed engines again for 2009/2010 on.

X2 the parts yard should be able to ensure they supply you a viable replacement engine

My second engine was from a Saturn. I also have a 2006 hhr. Like the others have said check with either local or national junk yards. You can look up LKQ on line and they will show what they have across the country. If you are going to a mechanic they will usually be able to source the right motor for you as well. Finding a relatively low mileage motor may be difficult at this point. I just put another motor in mine that had 94k on it but heard it run before it was pulled. Are you in Galesburg, IL?
