Engine Light/ Traction Control

Took car into get some service yesterday. Tranny flush, oil change, radiator flush, clean brakes and other small things. Drove it home and noticed the Engine dummy light and Traction Control light were both still on. Also noticed as the car shifted (auto) it was real rough and jerky. Called dealer and was told to bring it by but I'm not able to until Monday. He said the T/C light caused the engine light to come on. Does this sound correct and has anyone else had this situation? He said driving it won't do any harm. I told him I wanted them to be aware of the problem ASAP "IF" something happened they were at fault as the lights were not on when I took it in.

HHR warning lights

I am having a similar issue. My TC and engine warning light came on, the service garage replaced my O2? sensor in the exhaust system and the lights went off then came back on again. I took it back and was told that there was a notice out from Chevy to service garages that the wiring harness to the sensor lights rubs against the engine resulting in shorting and warning lights coming on . When the TC light comes on it automatically turns off the traction control which results in the poor shifting. Resetting the TC can get it back on line for a while and fix the shifting. The service garage repaired and wrapped the wiring harness which fixed it for about 6 months but it is showing up again so I am doing additional investigation now.

I was told mine was the Air Flow sensor or something to that matter. When they did the service, it was not put back on all the way and was screwing up the computer. It didn't know how much air to let in, too much I can tell you. I wonder if any damage was done while it was all screwed up.

I'm sure it's probably different codes being thrown, but I've been having a recurring bout w/ an intermittent T/C warning light that doesn't trigger a CEL warning.

I am also having a problem with my TC traction coming on. Sure looks like this is becoming common. I am just hoping somebody comes up with a solution before the dealers rob us all on their repairs.

Happened again this morning while returning from early morning errand. Just so happened to be passing the dealer on the way home so I dropped Dory of to get the problem taken care of......got real tired of the hard shifting.

Service dept called and said it was a bad cam actuator. Haven't been given the codes yet, will make sure I get them when I pick her up.

My traction control light comes on if I accelrerate quickly. Sometimes it will triger the CEL. All I have to do to reset it is turn the car off for a minute then restart the car. When the T/C light is on I hate the way it shifts.

Mine started after I hit something with the transmission pan. I bent it and had a leak. I thought it was because the fluid was low? I replaced the pan, (no more leak) and refilled it. It still does it when I acclerate quickly.

Stilll having this problem as noted in another thread. I think it's going to be the MAF sensor, but as far as I can tell from other posts it can be one of several things.
1. Switch in shifter lever [probably not though]
2. the computer needs reprogramming/replacement
3. A sensor in one of the wheels [expensive]
4. The MAF [some ppl reported this as a fix but have not updated if it really worked.]

This is the problem with intermittent malfunctions... they can be hard to diagnose, since they come and go.
