Engine Power Reduced Light on
#31
this just happened to me tonite (Jan. 10, 2015) . Car stalled, would not start.
I dont remember now if i had a click or not when turning the key;
Sat for 5 minutes contemplating a tow truck, and then it started; "Reduced Power" message went away but Check engine Lite is on.

Bought a scanner at Harbor Freight.
Will scan tomorrow.
checked gas cap, then loosened and tightened

anyway. didn't check codes until today (wet and bitter weather for a few days-didn't realize how easy it would be to hookup) however-no codes
has run ok since.
perused dozens of topics in archives.
not many real solutions. lots of attempts.
sent an email to another member-she found water from a clogged sunroof drain caused wet wires somewhere-after 4 dealers and 4 independents. i dont have a sunroof, and was dry weather for me.
other opinions:
connector in left kickpanel-loose or wet.
connector pin at throttle body
wires rubbing-chafing under hood-a TSB somewhere
fusebox connection
oil reminder not reset for awhile (i think this was my problem)
bad battery
thanks for the followup.
i will keep looking-checking

I ran into the same problem, after weeks of looking for the problem I found a small piece of paper towel on th MAF sensor. I thought no way that could be the problem. I cleaned it before putting it back in. Cleared the code, it started right up, took it for a test drive and it ran like a cat with turpentine rubbed on its butt.
