Welcome to the site, a few questions

What engine does your 2007 have, 2.2 or 2.4?
What engine is the 2009?
You seethe 2007 2.2 litre is not compatible with a 2009 2.2 or 2.4 because of the VVT

The 2007 has the 2.2, The 2009 also has the 2.2.
why cant you use the 2.2 VVt? isnt it the same motor?

Been discussed before on this forum. If I recall correctly, it's not just an engine, ecm and wiring harness involved.
The problem is not just that it's a non VVT--- VVT engine swap, but the fact that you are trying to swap a flex fuel engine into a non flex fuel car.

Don't remember the details but maybe someone can find that old thread that explains it.

As Avril sings! It's Complicated

But there's nothing you can do that can't be done!
If you get the complete 2009 HHR, let's say it's collision damaged, you'll have everything you need for the swap!

Need a BCM too.

Do you own a Tech2 and have a subscription to TisWeb?

Just a lot cheaper and less problems to get a 2007-2008 motor.
