few problems
Not connecting to the computer. Usually a blown fuse to the power outlet/cigarette lighter. That fuse also powers the OBD plug.
Fwiw. I'm leaning towards a bad ground somewheres. Sorry, but my repair manual is on my other computer which is broken down.
I would post up the ground system diagram if I could. Maybe someone else has it handy.
OR. I'll bet donbrew will PM you some good stuff to look over.

Thanks donbrew. Now, as I was poking around, I noticed an hvac fuse missing. I didn't pull any fuses, just checked the ones that were there. Also found another missing one. So after replacing both of them, Christ's image on a saltine cracker, it's blasting hot and cold air again! The lights are on and it's communicating with the reader. Showing incomplete cycle because I pulled the battery, but we're getting there. Radio is still black which brought my attention to fuse number 6. It's a 20A simply labeled AMP on the BCM. And it's missing. Would this have anything to do with the radio?
Got the communication part fixed. Missing fuse. I'll save you a long story here and say that the "jackass" who used the car was really stupid and spiteful. So I may be dealing with a out of spite situation.
Not quite sure on that. There are prongs in there for a fuse and it did have a really nice stereo when it worked. Where would I look for the amp? I'm chilling in the ac atm, so I got time :-)
Your 1st post said everything worked fine till recently. Now you state that there are "missing" fuses(??? how could everything have been working) and something about a "jackass".
Would have been nice to know the details and a timeline of repairs/sabotage before I tried to offer my help. Hopefully our good guy Moderator donbrew can help you. I'm out.

Sorry guys. It's been pretty stressful. All of this stems from a family mess. The car isn't driven. It's cranked and maintained. We have been trying to sell it, but they caused a lot of damage. They destroyed the ignition, didn't bother to tell anyone about the fan, and all this got dropped on me because I know what I'm doing 9/10 of the time. I'm sorry if I have frustrated you guys or made you mad. But your help has been super valuable. You saved me.from buying a $300 switch I didn't need, helped fix the ac, and have given me new info. The radio socket is arcing pretty badly when I check it. And has blown 2 new fuses I have placed in it. So I have a grounding issue now to run down. For what it's worth, sorry I'm a bone head and thank you for your help.
firemangeorge, I appreciate your help. I'm sorry my time line was all over the place. And I do feel bad I frustrated you to the point of being out of it. But you guys did solve my problems. Honestly and truly. I benched the radio. It is bricked. There is no short with the grounds. All grounds secured, rust free, clean, whatever free. The radio has a dead short that makes it completely unusable. And as I said, you guys helped me immensely. My hat is off to you all. After about 1200 in repair to my wife and mother in law's vehicles in the past 2 weeks, this helped us out beyond words. If you are ever near Charlotte Nc, I owe you guys a beer.
