Fix to CEL and Reduced Eng Pwr
Not sure if this applies to any other than 2.2 but here it is.
Had problems with CEL and Reduced Eng Power for last week or so. With a lot of searching and reading on this forum, I found the problem. The car continuously would set a P2165 code to do with Throttle Body Sensor. After cleaning TB carbon biuld up, checking the terminal ends, checking to make sure everything was plugged well, I found shorted wiring!
I read in a TSB about the wiring harness possibly contacting/rubbing on a bracket and possibly causing a ground which would disable the TB and set the code. Last night I found the ground and hopefully took care of the problem.
If you have had this problem, check the area in the pics BEFORE you let the stealership or another mech say you need a new TB or TB motor.
Here is what it looked like after getting it exposed...thought the pics looked better when I took them last night...
If anybody needs better explanation feel free to email me...hope this helps somebody!

There is no code P2165. Maybe it was a P2135? For those that want information on codes a good place to start is here:
https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/problems-service-repairs-42/official-tsb-recall-thread-23231/
This link is in the Problems/Service Issues Forum as a sticky.
After accessing the Thread use the "Search This Thread" option and type in the trouble code or anything else you are searching for. This will bring up the TSBs that may help.
When I typed in P2135 I got this:

and this:

rt2008....if you look at the picture above with the light in it you will see where the wire "t's" off the large harness, just above that you can see where I had already untaped the wiring harness. The harness was resting/rubbing on a part in that area. It had rubbed through the wire loom and wire's insulation causing it to ground out. Hopefully yours is that simple too! I just taped the wire up real well, taped the whole bundle with friction tape, reinstalled the wire loom as well as adding another layer of thicked, more heavy duty loom. HOPE THAT HELPS.
