Front End Vibration

I have a 2011 HHR and I get a vibration when I brake from 60mph to 40mph. It feels like a rotor is warped but above and below this range it's fine. My wheel balance is fine and a changed rotors and pads 9000 miles ago. I have 44000 miles on the car. It was suggested to me that I may have a tie rod going. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced the same problem. This is my 3rd HHR and the only problem I've had in all of them is warping rotors but not this type of shaking.

Welcome to the site

if it only happens when your braking then I would be investigating the rotors and or the drums.

I am now using a theory involving the REAR BRAKES. If they are not adjusted CORRECTLY, I get that shake. Too loose or Too tight; both are bad. Too loose the front rotors can get overheated and warp, too tight and imperfections in the shoes and drums get amplified.

Hubs seem to contribute also.

Seems like every time I replace a bit of the running gear, the shakes go away for a while.
