front wheel hub replacement

Now some might not agree with this BUT, you could put the wheel back on with a couple lug nuts and give it a couple kicks on each side and the whole assembly will just come off bolted to your wheel. Of course, try some penetrating oil and such, and be sure that your car is solidly supported on jack stands, or even more safe is having one side of the car firmly planted to the ground

Hurst2001- Thanks for bring this thread outta the mothballs & Good you got your ride sorted.
And now I gotta check out my L Front wheel for bearing (possibly) needing replacing. I wanna pull the caliper & brakes first, then spin the hub.
Only 33, 680 miles on mine, but L F is not happy. I have a old wheel hub puller. It will line up to my studs & center... I saw that you tube with the tire kicker.

More on front wheel hub replacement
My HHR is a 2011 with 217k miles. It seems as though, in my case, my front wheel hubs last about 100k miles each, generally speaking. The original left and right hubs were replaced when there was a rhythmic rumble that would worsen for the right front hub when going around a curve to the right and likewise for the front left when going around a curve to the left. Last week, I replaced the first front right hub for the second time. I replaced the first one four years ago, and again last week, right on schedule. This time around, instead of a rhythmic rumble, the hub was making a "4x4/mudder/truck tires" sound, as another forum member eloquently described in his exact same case as mine. I noticed when I removed this hub that the inside of the hub came apart from the wheel seal and I saw these notches that turn with the hub that had no grease on them that looked like they were rubbing against the rubber seal, which would explain that 4x4 knobby mudder tire noise that the hub was making. Anyway, maybe this makes a good case for going with genuine replacement parts instead of the bargain brand like I always seem to opt for. Anyway, the reason for my contribution to this discussion is just for the sake of offering more information and reinforcing existing information. The hammer puller tool, pictured above, is a tool I may add to my arsenal, but the front wheel drive hub puller is the primary staple go to tool here.

RobEdmiston- Welcome aboard & Appreciate your reply. I'm hoping to find time by this weekend to pull my L F wheel, then the caliper & brakes to make sure all is good to this point.
But the sound I hear on the road is just beginning, & sounds like a 4x4, which I need to make sure, before I make any purchases.
