Fuel pump problem
Well looks like my car is going in tommorrow for the fuel pump broblem. After the Mizzou basketball game Friday night my car wouldn't start for the first 3 cranks. It has steadly got worse as time has gone on, so I made the decision to take it in. I wish there was a TSB to address this isue, other than the one about a wire rubbing next to the engine. Checked that myself and no problems. Man I hate being with out my baby :( . Mabye they will give me an HHR as a rental. Last time they gave me a suburban

The last 3 GM vehicles I have had (dating back to 1998) seemed to go through at least one fuel pump a year. |
I just heard from the dealer. They tried to repeat the hard starting problem with no luck for most of the morning. They did go ahead and replace the wire to the fuse box per the TSB to be on the safe side, and then it happened. They were able to check the fuel pump at that point and they found out...tada...it was loosing pressure, so a new pump is on order and should be in thursday. More to come.

Glad to hear they are taking care of it.

I used to have a 1990 S-10 Blazer 2 door sport and I only went through 1 fuel pump in the 10 years i had her. I will admit that car loved to eat lower joints for breakfast. I replaced at least 4-5 pairs of lower ball joints on that cal. It was pretty costly especially after wheel balancing and all. Fortunately I havent had any problems soo far with the HHR but then again I only have 7000 miles on her

My car is now back from the dealer with a new fuel module assembly, and the long cranking problem seems to have gone away. I noticed it starts much faster now, even at a cold start. Very happy with my dealer, and the way they handled this repair. They classified this as an incorrect pressure at the pump problem. Now back to the mods.

Glad to hear its running well now.
BTW, I've got a taste for Lion's Choice, how about you? Gonna be in town anytime soon? |

Mizzou, mine has worked great since the replacement and I was so happy with my dealership, they have done very well covering any issues, giving me quick appointments for scheduled service, oil changes etc, I guess I have found a place to do repeat business...
