Did you check the fuses under the hood? That was the culprit for me.

Gauges going on and off while driving - Problem Solved?Maybe.

O.K. Time will tell but think I have finally traced down the problem. Anyone else who is having problems, look at the wires that are beside you OBD connection on drivers side under left hand side of dash. Found mine to be rubbing up a gainst a metal bracket that is located in the same area and was grounding it out. Found out by wiggling the wires with the car running, as soon as wires touched metal surface gauges stopped working. And was not completly rubbed through but must have just enough that when it would finally hit the right spot gauges would act up. Taped it up good and repositioned it so that it would not rub in the future. If you are having this problem or if not having this problem yet, take a look to see if this is the culprit. I would be interested to see if this solves anyone elses problems. Thanks,

Picture of where to look. Can not get close enough picture to show chaffing in wire but it is there.

Cool. Good find.

My gauges were behaving this way until I removed the passenger side plastic waterfall panel. Without the panel, no problems. With the panel a computer module keeps losing communication causing all types of crazy behavior (irregular gauges, loss of power steering, hard shifting, constant clicking at gear selection solenoid, and dashes on display). I haven't taken the time to chase down the offending wire, as long as the panel is removed the car drives great.

Might pay you to just give it a look. May be rubbing against different wires other than just the gauge wires as mine was doing.

Try tightening the bolts in the under hood fuse box, they need to be gorilla tight.
Make sure the large red cables on the front of the under hood fuse box are secured.

My problems began with the gauges not working until I had driven it for about 10 minutes, then it was back to normal. As days went on the length of time the gauges and the fault l.e.d."s would blink continuously would lengthen. After a month of this the gauges and fault l.e.d.'s quit working permanently. I took it to Chevy dealer and they replaced the cluster. After driving for about a week now I have 0 problems. Done deal.
